Gold miner Newmont (NYSE:NEM) stated late Thursday it appointed Karyn Ovelmen as its new CFO; she’s going to be a part of the corporate through the present quarter.
Ovelman has held CFO roles in numerous firms within the useful resource and power sectors, together with Flowserve, LyondellBassell Industries and Petroplus Holdings, and she or he serves on the boards of Hess and ArcelorMittal.
Newmont (NEM) stated last September that former CFO Nancy Buese would depart on November 1; Brian Tabolt has been filling the place on an interim foundation.
The appointment comes as Newmont (NEM) prepares to finish the acquisition of Australia’s Newcrest Mining in one of many market’s largest offers this 12 months, valued at A$26.2B (~US$17.8B).
